SAT in the UAE: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and registration

Register for the SAT in the UAE through College Board and confirm a seat for your chosen date. Compare the exact campus address in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, or another emirate. Classes are a separate purchase, and the base exam fee is US$111 before extras and AED conversion.

Pick a center by the trip you can actually make

Start with your city, then expand to nearby emirates if the date or available seats make that worthwhile. Check the school branch and address before paying; a familiar brand can have campuses far apart.

There is no verified 'best center' ranking here. Current availability, a manageable journey, correct physical ID, and a Bluebook-ready device are more useful than an old school review.

How to register in United Arab Emirates

Book through your own College Board account. A school hosting the exam and a company selling SAT classes are different from the registration service. Paying for tuition does not reserve a test seat.

  1. Check the university's last accepted testing date, then choose a sitting that fits it.
  2. Use your legal name as it appears on the physical ID you will bring. Upload a photo meeting College Board's requirements.
  3. Select your date and United Arab Emirates in the center search. Compare the exact campus, address, and available seats during registration.
  4. Choose the center, review the charge, and complete payment. Save the confirmed registration in My SAT.
  5. Install Bluebook on your testing device. Complete exam setup when it opens before your sitting to obtain the admission ticket.

Fees and the AED charge

The base international SAT charge is US $111: $68 registration plus $43 international fee. College Board quotes USD; your card's conversion and foreign-transaction charges determine the AED amount. Do not treat a converted estimate as the checkout price.

Late registration adds $38, so the base late total is $149. A center change costs $34. A date change requires canceling and registering again; canceling costs $34 by the change deadline or $44 until 11:59 p.m. ET on the Thursday before test day. Review the official fee schedule and the actual checkout before paying. Classes, transport, and extra score reports are separate expenses.

College Board adds a $24 test center fee only at the centers on its published list. On October 5, 2026, that August 2026–June 2027 list named centers in Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan, and none in India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, or Kuwait.

Check your ID before paying

At UAE centers, use a valid UAE national ID card or a valid passport from any country. School IDs and driver's licenses do not qualify under this country-specific rule. See the official ID requirements, including the US Common Access Card exception.

Compare your account name with the document now. The admission ticket does not replace ID, and a phone image does not replace the original document.

IB, A-Level, American, or MOE: check your own gaps

The curriculum label does not prove SAT readiness. Take a baseline, compare the SAT domains with what you have studied, and practice the specific missing concepts or formats. Protect your school assessment calendar while planning a possible retake.

Check the college policy before deciding another test is necessary. NYU Abu Dhabi says NYU remains test-optional through 2027–2028; that does not remove its other entry requirements.

Traveling elsewhere in the Gulf

Use the Saudi Arabia, Qatar, or Kuwait guide for the country where you will actually test. Compare the confirmed seat with travel costs and passport requirements. A university's SAT admission rule is separate from whether its city has an available weekend test center.

Questions before you decide

Where can I register for SAT in Dubai or Abu Dhabi?

Use your own College Board account and choose the exact available UAE center for the test date. A preparation class does not reserve a seat.

Does an IB or A-Level student always need SAT?

No. Check each intended institution's testing policy and curriculum entry requirements separately.

Which ID can I bring in the UAE?

College Board's UAE rule allows a valid UAE national ID or a valid passport from any country, with a US Common Access Card exception. Bring the original physical document and matching registration name.
