UGA reports a 1360–1500 SAT middle range and 31–34 ACT range for its fall 2026 admitted class. First-year applicants must submit official SAT or ACT scores. The SAT range uses admitted students whose SAT was their strongest submitted test or their only test.

### Current admissions guidance for University of Georgia

**Latest official update:** UGA’s March 6, 2026 admissions post reports 1360–1500 for the entire fall admitted class across decision waves. This is not the February applicant-pool average of 1306, the older Class of 2029 range, or the enrolled federal snapshot below.

#### SAT/ACT policy

UGA has no test-optional first-year pathway. Its minimum SAT sections are 480 Reading and Writing and 440 Math. UGA superscores, but says that high test scores do not compensate for a noncompetitive GPA; course rigor and core grades remain central.

#### Application deadlines

Fall Early Action applications are due October 15 and materials October 29. Regular Decision applications are due January 1 and materials January 15. Use the materials deadline when planning official score delivery.

#### How to use your SAT score

- For a 1400 SAT, compare with the 1360–1500 admitted range, not the 1306 average of the full applicant pool. The populations answer different questions.
- Check both SAT sections against 480 Reading and Writing and 440 Math. Required minimums are eligibility checks, not competitive targets.
- If you retake, target a recoverable section weakness while protecting core coursework. UGA superscores, and explicitly places grades and rigor ahead of a score that tries to compensate for weaker academics.

### Which UGA SAT statistic answers your question?

For admitted-student context, use the March 2026 full admitted-class post: 1360–1500. Its SAT group includes SAT-only applicants and those for whom SAT was the stronger submitted exam. It therefore is not an SAT distribution for every admitted student.

The February 2026 admissions post reports about 1306 as the average SAT for the entire applicant pool. That includes applicants who were not admitted. Neither that mean nor the 1430 midpoint of the admitted range establishes an admitted-student median.

### Required scores do not replace the transcript

UGA recalculates core academic GPA rather than using every school’s printed weighted number as if the scales were identical. Its review also compares course rigor with the courses available at the applicant’s school.

Send official test results before the materials deadline and check your application status. Compare the highest Reading and Writing section and highest Math section within the SAT; do not mix SAT and ACT sections into a single superscore.

### Questions about University of Georgia

#### What is UGA’s median SAT?

The March 2026 admitted-class post gives a 1360–1500 middle range, not an admitted median. 1430 is the range midpoint. The February applicant-pool average of about 1306 describes applicants, not just admitted students.

#### Can I apply test-optional to UGA?

No. UGA requires official SAT or ACT results from first-year applicants. SAT minimums are 480 Reading and Writing and 440 Math; competitive admitted scores are much higher than those eligibility minimums.

#### When are University of Georgia’s application deadlines?

Fall Early Action applications are due October 15 and materials October 29. Regular Decision applications are due January 1 and materials January 15. Use the materials deadline when planning official score delivery.
